Pogba's vision and long passing giving Germany fits

France looking as good as you'd expect

He absolutely got ball but you aren’t supposed to be able to tackle from behind like that anymore.

Pogba again. Dismantling Germany.

Another silly VAR offside

Thank you VAR. might need that goal differential.

Where are the playmakers for Germany?

Just nothing on offense deep.

Re : Poland from part 3

While watching the game, I was thinking that Poland is always talked about as the "dark horse", "maybe the can go far this year", and so on
but they almost always finish with a disappointed result

Their last 6 big competitions

2018 -> Last in their group with 3 points -> Colombia, Senegal, Japan
2006 -> 3rd in their group with 3 points -> Germany, Ecuador, Costa Rica
2002 -> Last in their group with 3 points -> S.Korea, Portugal, USA

2012 -> Last in their group with 2 points -> Russia, Czech Republic, Greece (tournament at home)
2008 -> Last in their group with 1 point -> Germany, Croatia, Austria

And the exception

2016 -> 2nd in their group with 7 points -> Germany, Northern Ireland, Ukraine
1/8 against Switerland advance on penalty kicks
1/4 against Portugal eliminated on penalty kicks

And this year it seems like they could finish last with 0 points

Not exactly marquee but interesting matchups today. Could be some desperation or even bad blood (Finland/Russia if other rivalries carry over)

Bale owned by Soyuncu on a 3 on 2.

Dumb by Bale

edit: and a few minutes later Bale redeems himself with that pass lol

de Boer is apparently planning on a long tournament given how poorly his early substitutions worked out the first game and he just made them again 63 minutes into the game.

Kind of ho-hum slate today. Imagine the upset if Scotland beats England. Hooo boy.

Messi vs Suarez might be the best story via the Copa.

I don’t know, I think the first 2 should be reasonably competitive games. England/Scotland could be feisty but England should handle them relatively easily IMO. I would love to see Scotland get a result though.

On a different note I’m finding it difficult to work, watch soccer, and watch golf all at the same time…;)

Ipad Pro 12.9 to the left for Soccer, Laptop in middle, Ipad Air to right for golf....rinse repeat. ;)
