Take the win but there was no reason to have to sweat that out once up 4-1 with less than 10 to go.

Santini has played 14 games in the NHL this year and in 4 of them he's had more ice time than he got tonight. I think you all forgot over the break how much Santini plays.

I'm not that concerned with him hitting a rookie wall because he missed time with injury.
I don't understand why he plays so little, even less than Stollery. Stollery has been pretty solid for the most part, but was a trainwreck tonight. Santini might actually get sent down when Moore is ready, because Moore is so gud.

I don't think we played that bad, I thought Cory had a pretty poor game. All 3 were stoppable goals, but it's hard to expect him to have stopped all 3 of those goals and get a shutout. Tonight was getting even on him for the game where he allowed 3 goals in the first few minutes of the LAK game, despite not playing poorly and not having been able to do much on any of those goals.

They got too scrambely in the end, which is a bad trend of entire season

i get what your trying to say but i'm going to have to go out to the coop and ask my birds if that's even a word…

but ya, when its close it out time……the team has to play tighter. thats a mental problem.

228 row 14. There were a ton of Devil fans there tonight, was good to see

haha

same area i sat in last time there…..end straight on. nice!

i was back row that night but caught the middle period in the standing room ring between the 2 levels. just walked down and stood there...

about 2 thirds into the 2nd security asked for my ticket which was the back row upstairs…..i told them i just wanted to check the game out here for a bit …they were cool and let me stay in the ring until the intermission. devils jersey, a beer and not causing trouble….wings fans were cool with me just enjoying the game also.

Some thoughts from the game. The Joe is a awesome building. Miles Wood looks gigantic in person. Stollery's stick work at times was amazing. Good win, they never make it easy but I enjoyed that one

I am gonna try to make it there for the last game at the Joe if I can. I've never been and think it would be a shame to miss out on it. Depends on if the Devils make the playoffs or not, same with the Wings. Tickets are probably going to be way too expensive though.

ya. its cost up for that last april game. shuthub has $240 last i looked

if youve never been you should go depending on your budget. the place is so simple. 2 levels and a who cares concourse. and thats it. no bells and whistles. i love the place.

on a side note, i got to see hawks/pens in '92 at chicago stadium regular season game………it was loud as ****ing legend says it was.

they both went on to play the final that season.

i have family in both cities…..if you count windsor as "detroit area"

I always threaten to destroy the Golden Girls kitchen, every time something brutal happens in one of our games.

The Golden Girls kitchen is my own, by the way.

The late 70's/early 80's had the worst kitchen models ever.

Wait, what? The Golden Girls kitchen is your own? Like you bought the house where they filmed the show. It's 3:40am, and I can't sleep so I'm not sure if I'm not processing what you said correctly or if I'm possibly hallucinating. It's been a long day and doesn't want to end it seems.

What's the area/neighborhood like where the Joe Louis Arena is? It's Detroit so I'm imagining if you accidently ventured a few blocks away you could be in some trouble.

Haha no!

I'm pretty sure the inside of the house where the Golden Girls was filmed was on a set in a studio and not inside a real home.

I only call it the Golden Girls kitchen because it looks a lot like their kitchen. I actually think they had nicer cabinets though haha. My house was built in 1980 and the kitchen has never been remodeled and looks like it's right out of the Golden Girls or some other 80's sitcom. I hate 80's kitchens, as they're even more dated and uglier than kitchen models and designs from the early 70's and earlier. I was looking at one other house about a block away, which was built in 79 but had a kitchen that was completely remodeled a few years earlier. It wound up selling for $20k cheaper than the house I bought, about a year later. Despite it being more expensive at the time I wound up buying this house. I like this house, but wanna blow the kitchen to smithereens haha. I just don't have a few grand to do it. I did put kitchen tile for the floor though, so it's a start. :naughty:

I even have the lanai like the Golden Girls did. People from Jersey who come to visit me always refer to it as "The Golden Girls" house and make cracks like "Where is Sophia? Did you put her in a nursing home?" But this is a common layout and architecture in my neighborhood. All of these houses look like the Golden Girls inside, unless they've remodeled.

People always say it's in a bad area, but I suspect that's because it's Detroit. Kind of like how Newark is a bad city, so Prudential Center automatically gets negative and unwarranted heat because of that. When it's pretty safe by the arena.

From people that I know who have went to the Joe, it's not unsafe to go to. I have a friend that has walked from the arena to the hotel/casino a few times and at night in the dark and never felt uncomfortable at all. Detroit is a bad city, and there's some people that automatically wanna believe and have you believe that any place that has the city's name in its address, is automatically this dangerous place. The same could be said about Newark and a lot of bad cities. There's constant misnomers that any place that's in a bad city is automatically like being in the Wild Wild West.

Maybe to you, I expected it to be a one goal game by the end of the period.

As mentioned, it's been a trend all year long unfortunately. We seem to panic as soon as we give one up, play too much on our heels. Definitely something that needs to be flushed out mentally.

Camm let HZ just waltz in on the first goal.
He's getting slower and softer by the game.
Looks like he's just going through the motions and playing not to get injured.

Much needed win, let's see if they can follow it up and give the home fans a win for a change on Friday.

Also, not for nothing, but Jake should've gotten an assist on Noesen's goal last night :yo:

Just from viewing it from a bad camera angle, looked like JJ was creating space in the corner, but Noesen tipped it to Zacha who then put it on net.

I'm guessing that's what happened given JJ was not given an assist. I don't think he actually touched the puck.

Which is such a JJ thing to do.

Palmieri has really picked it up the past few weeks

hes on pace for ~20 goals and ~30 assists now

He's been a bright spot recently, even when the points weren't coming his way, the compete level was definitely still there.

I don't like to put stock into plus/minus, but him being a +3 on this team is remarkable.

Now tied for the team lead in goals with Rico, 2nd on the team in points and 2 behind Hall. Shooting percentage is right back up to his career numbers as well.

I think Palm's always plays pretty hard, he get's in peoples faces, in general he plays with emotion (probably *****ing at the refs too much of late though) I thought he was a getting a bad rap early in the year for coasting, but imo that criticism stemmed from not putting up points. Now that he is scoring, people are saying he's playing better, but imo, the puck is just going into the net more.
