Definitely the Schneider we knew before last season.

Even when he was playing well in January and February of last year, he just didn't look like this. He didn't have that confidence or calming look in net, that we were so used to. New goalie coach or last year was just an isolated and anomaly bad year? Who knows. Something is working.

good game gentlemen (leaf fan)--Not here to make excuses, you guys played with speed, and our defense was porous as hell. Though I will say we did have 50 shots, many were huge saves by Schenider, especially early in the 3rd. But with that being said you won fair and square. Good game.

Toronto is a damn good hockey club, if they get that defense shored up, they are as good as anyone.

I've always said when you have low expectations, you never complain about wins no matter how they come. That being said, I thought at times it was very very sloppy. Biggest issue was the number of unforced turnovers in the defensive zone and too many penalties clearly.

I don't think I've ever wanted to win the third game of the regular season against a non-rival so badly.

Hell of a win, I was really impressed how the team stepped up for this one.

Schneider was great too, if not for crap penalties and some breakdowns, score could have been even more lopsided.

Pretty amazing that the Devils have scored 16 goals with none from Palmieri, Hall and Nico.

Now the main board narrative will be that they haven’t been tested yet and that will be th narrative until they lose a game. For a long time the Devils were bogeymen with their trap and physical play. Then they went away. A number of fans were overjoyed. Now they appear to be back and that will upset a number of people.
