Honestly that last week of March is going to be huge because you have some lesser opponents in Carolina and the Islanders with Pitt in the middle.

Then two more cupcakes in Montreal and the Rangers.

They are going to need to put a hot streak together right there to cross the finish line. If they trip up on those games they might be ****ed depending on how California went.
The Isles, Habs and rags are 2 point ATM's. There's 6 points they have absolutely no business not picking up.

Only thing that is annoying is that they could be in a comfortable playoff spot if they hadn't pissed away so many games

Did you forget the called-back-goals due to that stupid offsides review? THOSE have cost us.

And the Officials basically swallowing their whistles when our Team gets mauled while calling ticky tack crap on them. Devils should've had a million PP's at this point of the season. What a Joke.

Cannot blame the tight race on that though. There were plenty of times they no showed. I hate when people play the ref card. No offense to you personally, you seem like a swell fellow.

At minimum they have to win one of their next two, and then two out of four out west.

Even then it will be tricky to pick up the final 6 they most likely will need to close it out. Though this assumes loses in regulation.

If they turn the one lose out of the next two and two of loses out west into OTLs they would be in excellent shape.

Either way they would need to beat the gimmie teams and pull out about two or so wins from the remainder of Pitt twice, Tampa, Toronto, and Washington.

It is very doable but not exactly easy.

Three points of out four this weekend and then 6 out of 8 in Cali would be absolutely fantastic.

They don’t need to be world beaters. Get two wins and try to get an OTL or two. Vegas has cooled off, and both LA and San Jose are beatable. Ducks will be extremely tough as they are hot.

If they can do that and beat teams like Tampa and Pitt along with the non playoff teams left they will be golden.

I like 6 goals and 2 points but a lot not to like as well in tonight's game.

Especially that weak 3rd period.

I'd go back to Cory Thursday night too.

Well they got to win the gimmies. That is a given. If they can’t beat the cupcakes then they don’t deserve it anyway.

Though with this team they could sweep out west and come back and lay eggs against the cupcakes.

You're right.

I guess I should say as long as they don't get hot. They're just keeping pace at this point.

Right, and I just don’t think they have it in them to make a serious hot run.

This has just been a mediocre squad all year, and no sign of a spark to change that. Not sure why as I really thought they had a chance to win the Metro at one point, but it just isn’t there. Maybe some of the team has chimed Torts out. IDK

It really sucks that Maroon is gonna get a ridiculous contract.

He's been a hell of a fit here. And if you like big bodies who are physical, he's the kind of player who can provide those things without chasing his tail all game and running around like the headless chicken in his own end.

He's a pretty good puck possession guy, to make up for some of his faults like the lack of footspeed.

Who knows, Florida can fall of a cliff. Carolina and Nyi are pretty much buried at this point

I am still waiting for that garbage team to fall off that proverbial cliff.

Apparently, they need someone to push them off.

Here's hoping the teams they face will do just that.

Very true. A lot of the hand wringing is based on some worst case scenarios out of town.

One or both of Columbus and Florida could fall off allowing us to simply back into the playoffs. Of course I much rather go in with at least a little momentum.

Not guarantee either team makes it to 92+

I liked him before the trade. He’s just a solid player and it’s a shame people think he’s only good playing alongside top talent. That’s selling him way short. I wouldn’t throw stupid money at him but I certainly hope Ray makes a pitch.

Yeah, Keith has had a good run, but he looked more like the Kinkaid we saw from 2+ weeks ago tonight.

It's not like he was terrible or anything, but I thought the first goal was kind of stoppable and he was fighting it in the 3rd period. Looked like he was daydreaming while a puck went off the post from distance and really struggled to cover up a puck, which led to an extended marathon shift in our end before he was able to cover it once again.

I don't think he had a chance on goals 2 and 3 and goal 4 is the kind of goal that they're shaving away from us this year for goalie interference. I thought goal 3 was another bad one, until I saw that it didn't go through him, but was tapped in by a stick in front of the net.

It wasn't the worst game he's played all year, not even close, but it's also not a game that I think you go back to him over because he got the win. Now it's time for a big performance from Cory. Even if Cory's overall numbers don't look great at the end of this year, a really solid hot streak is exactly what he needs. Martin Jones had a similar death march run with the Sharks a month-two ago, then had a long stretch of mostly 2 goal against games (3 when facing 42 shots against Minnesota) and the bad goals were not really happening during that stretch, until he allowed 3 to the Blue Jays the other night and got yanked in the 2nd.
