It makes no sense to complain about a career .5 a game player who is on pace to meet that standard. Basically you're saying he should be doing more than what he has done for his whole career up to this point. It's a nonsensical argument.

Give it a rest already. If Henrique winds up with 25 points this season then we can have a credible conversation about the level of his play. Until then, you are pissing in the wind.

People don’t have to give it a rest. He’s been really crappy for weeks. It’s not a nonsensical argument, his play at even strength is horrible.

So you think Henrique is going to magically be capabale of scoring at a higher rate than he is now (his career norm)?

I'm sorry but doesn't make sense. He's playing at the level that he is has always played. You might prefer someone who is more consistent - but you need to realize .5 a game players tend to be inconsistent. That's what makes the argument nonsensical - you want the player to be something that he has never been.

We all wish we had a team of 2009 era Zachary Parise's, but that's not how the real world works.

This is foolish. “As long as you score close to your career average, you’re immune from any and all criticism”. No.

Criticizing Henrique is not a novel concept. It's just a psychological crutch at this moment.

People are emphatic about Rico because, after Zacha's had his go-around, there is literally almost nothing else to keep harping on. Lovejoy is barely playing. Our fourth line is great. Moore is even playing better. The kids are exceeding expectations. Zajac and Mojo are injured. Cory has been stealing a few. Kinky has been keeping us in it.

All you can really say is that we give up way too many chances and this won't last.

Henrique just hasn't been bad enough to warrant the special attention.

It's not that he's immune from criticism, it's that you're criticizing deficiencies in his game that have always been there and expecting them to suddenly not be there.

You can criticize all you want in that vain, but it's insufferable and nonsensical.

I probably made a post or two on the subject so get the hell out of here with that hyperbole. How about you stop browsing this Devils forum if you want to avoid discussion of the Devils?
