I can assure you he doesn’t play like he is 6’5”hes 6'5'' so that will please some people!! lmao
Graves actually does stuff though
Never watched him play or heard much about him, care to elaborate on the stuff he does?Graves actually does stuff though
Don't really like the price.
I hate the value. 2nd? Ugh..
no one really knew what we would get with mueller though either
If we got that for Butcher I would be ecstatic.60 something overall and a bottom 6 prospect isn't that expensive for a 26 year old NHL DMan
Well he's got as many points this last season that Mueller had in his last two NHL seasons. Graves has his warts but that comparison was rather silly IMO.Never watched him play or heard much about him, care to elaborate on the stuff he does?
Graves has way more of a track record though. Mueller didn't. He sucks. Graves is at least a bottom pairing guy who can play near 20 mins and PK.no one really knew what we would get with mueller though either
we must be and honestly if i'm Seattle, I consider taking him. Only 1 year left on his deal and still a good player who can add some pop on the marketing end as well.I guess we are exposing Subban then, right?
Ryan Graves
Age: 26
Contract: $3,166,667 (UFA 2023)
Usage: Second pair even strength, first unit penalty kill
Production: Two goals and 15 points in 54 games
Possession impact: Neutral, erring towards positive
Cale Makar, Devon Toews and Samuel Girard are the obvious protection options in Colorado. Ryan Graves is good enough in a defence first, top-four role that the Avalanche might consider protecting four forwards, four defencemen and a goaltender. Still, if you’re Colorado and have all of those star defencemen plus Bowen Byram in the pipeline, maybe you’re willing to protect seven forwards and three defencemen, letting Graves go.
If you’re Seattle, a six-foot-five, 220-pound 26-year-old defenceman who has a proven track record of covering for his more celebrated partners must be an awfully appealing target.
Graves earns $3.17 million for two more seasons, is among the NHL’s plus-minus leaders over the past two seasons and is in his prime. Maybe Seattle just takes him and keeps him, as appealing as he would be to a team like Winnipeg looking for those exact same qualities.
