It's ok it's just not as good as what hronek is at this moment. And it really shouldn't be. Hronek has a year on him. Rasmus should have beaten svechnikov if he beats hronek here. #2 or 3 ceiling for a d > #2 center
Hronek has 2 years on him actually. He is a late '97.
I do like Hronek, but I still went with Rasmusen on upside.
yes the franchise desperately needs defenseman and Hronek may be the more 'important' prospect, but orgazizational wants... doesn't change what the prospects actually are.
It's not about wants. A #2 d is more valuable then a #2 center. So is a number 3
Yeah, a little bit. Check out this game. This made me kind of depressed. The guy looks like a grinder. He never holds onto the puck, never makes a play or takes a risk, nothing. He scores a goal on a deflection and that's all you see from him, offensively-speaking. He leaves the o-zone early and is always the first forward back. He reminds me of Sheahan. But Sheahan was a more promising offensive guy when he was a prospect.

Agreed.

Aside from that, Rasmussen will be a winger in the NHL IMO.
This poll makes me realize how weak our prospect pool is outside of Svechnikov and maybe Bertuzzi too.

We've just graduated a lot of guys recently. XO, Sproul, Jensen, Mrazek, AA, Mantha, Larkin... that's a lot of graduated prospects in a short time. Give this pool 1-2 years and it'll look much, much better unless we've completely dropped the ball in the last few drafts. And neither of those are AAA prospects.
But agreed, the cupboard is very bare compared to 5 years ago when we had a dozen guys with NHL potential (even if the Sprouls and Jurco's didn't ultimately pan out)

Interesting. I was just thinking how solid our top 5 is right now. Admittedly only Svechnikov/Bertuzzi have established themselves at a pro level but to me Svech, Bert, Ras, Hronek and Cholo is a good group with exciting upside.

I've got vili ahead of Bert. I still don't think Bert has top 6 potential. He will be an NHLer sure but his ceiling doesn't seem high. He did take a step forward this season so that's promising
It's pretty bad that the #9 pick, the highest the Wings have had in a generation, has people putting Bert, Hronek and Cholo above him.
He has enough offensive talent that he could be a top 6 player. 40-50 points isn't outrageous expectations for his potential and that pretty much makes you a top 6 player. His most recent season is very comparable to what Tatar did in his last AHL year.I've got vili ahead of Bert. I still don't think Bert has top 6 potential. I like that our fan base isn't putting him high just because of his draft position
Yeah I don't see him as more than a bottom 6 winger that's great come playoff time. If I had to rank our prospects it's probably:
1.Svech 2.Hronek 3.Cholo 4.Vili 5. Ras 6. Bert and I could probably be convinced to choose Lindstrom over Bert.
