Vrana has had 6+4=10 points on his last 10 AHL games. +4 plusminus, 36 shots, 3,6 shots per game,

At first 7 games he had 0+1 = 1 point, -6 in plusminus, 13 shots on goal.

Total season turnaround since mid-january.

I’m hoping that this means Bertuzzi is about to be punted out the door.

And/or Vrana. Detroit needs a real upgrade on wing.

Bert is too slow and is trash defensively aside from that.

Vrana seems like a headcase for all the talent he has, and is also a defensive liability.

I would be happy if Detroit can trade both this TDL and get a 1st for Bert with Retention, and a 2nd + B prospect or reclamation project for Vrana. Toss in Zadina with Vrana and add a 4th.

Best candidates for Vrana in my opinion:

Winnipeg
Nashville
LAK
New Jersey (When Tatar walks they can keep Vrana the extra year.)
Carolina (After losing Patches they could use a replacement depth scorer)

These teams are all good teams that could use an extra boost, and they all have trade assets that can be sent the other way without taking anything from the roster.

Won't be Nashville. Poile basically said today that it would take a big turn around for us to be buyers on anyone.

Both have one year remaining after this year, Vrana’s cap hit is roughly 550k more. Labanc has fallen out of favour with our coach and both players could likely use a change of scenery. Sharks will have the space with Timo and others getting dealt. Vrana could slot into Timo’s place on Hertl’s wing.
