Stevie Y trying to sweeten the pot up for Leon Draisaitl?

You still have to pay premium.

Detroit obviously has something up their sleeve. Maybe what they’re making sure of, is signing a couple of players that allows them to make the trades they’d like to. Whether that’s for Konecny, Debrincat, Scheifele, Hellebuyck, Miller, Pesce, etc….

For example, if they can sign O’Reilly for 2-3 years, after drafting Danielson, does it make them feel more comfortable moving Kasper for Pesce, if that’s who Carolina is demanding? They drafted 2 goaltenders. Did they do that knowing Cossa is on the move in a deal with Husso for Hellebuyck, but want to make sure they sign another winger like Killorn because Winnipeg also wants Kubalik or Fabbri in that deal?

It has to be something like this. Not saying these exact examples, but something is up, and the fact they haven’t done it yet with all the space they have, says they’re waiting on something.

If you want to post some ideas, I'm ok with that.

Make it realistic at least.

Kasper for Pesce? Hell no. Like full stop.

First extension handed out in a few hours should be Seider and for max term and high dollars.

No horse in that race. I could care less other than it’s a team with a lot of cap, that is going to do something. That makes things interesting when most teams don’t have much cash to spend.

Pretty sure he could have been included in a deal for Debrincat, 1 for 1 + picks.

Guess Detroit isn’t going after Debrincat after all, but if they do they just lost money for nothing…

But hey, who cares about other people’s money right.

Now he should sign with Columbus, outscore Gaudreau, and prove the Oilers fans that they were right all this time

I hope the Oil sign him tbh. 1 to 1.5 mill and I'd be ecstatic.

However, I hope he can get paid somewhere else for more term and money as I do think he's a good NHL player.

The guy above you is literally still somehow arguing that Yamamoto is a desirable NHL player and somehow it's just his cap hit thats the issue.
If he's saying he's not worth close to $3.1M, how desirable of a player does he think he is?

Wings couldn't make it work with like 3/4 openings at forward and $27M in cap space?

Maybe the "future considerations" was Holland agreeing to give Yzerman a two week vacation starting tomorrow and he's going to cover the Red Wings' GM duties by re-living his Playoff Streak glory days and have about 25 of that 27M occupied by 4PM tomorrow.:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

It was supposed to be a joke :help:
