That doesn't mean he'll be instantly inserted into the roster after an injury. He's getting an AHL assignment to prove himself while the Red wings chases a playoff spot. Nothing has come out from Luffs camp that he's unhappy about this.

Poor guy hasn’t played much hockey in recent years. He’s a walking time bomb when it comes to injuries. The good part for him though? He’s been getting NHL money, as his long term injuries keep happening in the NHL.

Also to add to his bad luck, he was replaced completely and there is just no spot for him in the line up.

He actually might get some call up time, as GR is flying now, and they likely wanna leave Czarnik down there. They did just flat out waive him though, so who knows. He’s gonna take Stevens spot with that termination. I didn’t even think about that when they terminated his deal, in the last week or so. So we can assume he’ll get those minutes at least to start.
