He made 2.25 million AAV last two years with the Leafs/Capitals.

Very useful bottom 6 winger, i'd personally rather see him in the lineup than either Foligino or Stewert.

Honestly, if he'll take near league minimum on a one way deal, i'd sign him to put pressure on Foligino, depth and added benefit of being able to start both Ek and Kunin in the AHL and keep them hungry for first call up minutes.

But i've long thought Winnik was one of the more under-rated players in the game.

Can't hurt, I suppose. Scored a dozen goals with Washington last year, so he seems to have at least a little scoring touch.

From the little bit I watched Washington last year, he seemed to be excellent on their 4th line.

A Winnik-Cullen-Stewart 4th line sounds solid.
