Look, this could all work out fine. It's possible he sits in the press box collecting checks when things get tight.

But the fact he gets a 1-way deal and a raise when the team has a forward logjam shows such poor judgement. It's not that Dan Cleary is going to kill the team, it's that nobody else in the league hands out this contract.
