Good.

The Star Trek references are getting a bit old though.

I am ok with this...as long as it does not get in the way if Wolf breaks the door down. Vladar has been really good and with the extension we should be able to unload him at a profit (a return of greater than a 3rd) if Wolf forces a move.

Not too long ago, the Flames struggled to find consistent goaltending following Kipper’s retirement. Now we have two solid goalies on the big club and a promising goalie down in the A. It honestly feels good

I honestly thought Ramo did well overall. Not good by any means, but not a liability per se. Hiller's first season was actually great ironically, he just imploded badly in season 2.

Some fans: This team needs improvements for this 2-3 year window! Probably a forward upgrade!
Treliving: How about 2 more years of Vladar at a great cap hit?
Some fans: *Speechless* Well... yes, that is a very good spot to solidify too.

That makes him a valuable asset but I still trade Markstrom and use the cap space for a top line RW. That’s the galaxy brain move. We’ll see if Treliving pulls a Dougie/Tkachuk type move or if he pulls a pretty much every other transaction in his tenure type move.

His NMC will make it hard but Markstrom is definitely the goalie to trade. Might take a couple seasons before it's done however.

Dominoes. This obviously means Wolf is being dealt for Pastrnak.
Naw the Leafs are going to blame their bad play on Marner and the Goalies so we'll be getting Mitch at 5m retained for Woll and Toffoli . My nieghbors sisters husbands third cousin on his uncles side got it straight from Dabass's proctologist's night cleaner so book it now .

I still don't get why we didn't start Vladar for Game 5 vs oilers. It was clear Markstrom was mentally shaken. He didn't exude any confidence that whole series. And sure enough, lets in a stinker 20 seconds in.

Vladar should have been starting Game 4, ffs. This is exactly what a backup goalie is for. Put him in if your #1 is struggling.

Would he have performed better than Markstrom? We'll never know. I think he would have, at least for 1 game.
Is this just Sutter being stubborn as hell? I lost respect for Sutter for not giving Vladar a chance.

I think its more Sutter giving Markstrom a chance to redeem himself than being stubborn. He probably wants to see how he responds and if he can build his confidence back up. I think Vladar will start to see more time this season if/when Markstrom doesn't look right.

2.2 million would be tied for 44th highest paid goaltender in the league. That's damn solid for backup money and Vladar is a damn solid and perhaps above average back up IMO. We got a good one here.

Coincidentally (or intentionally?), the 44th highest paid goalie this year is Mike Smith.
