Canuck hunting
Without wanting to re enter the past discussion, but assuming the thread was only shutdown because it hit 1000 posts, there are no signs whatsoever at our local community rink denoting numbers of participants allowed. The proper hockey rink and shack are closed, locked, and you can't get in. I mean you can climb the boards and fencing I guess but...

The flooded adjacent rink, same size, is open, and people skating on it, and NO regulations like how many people allowed posted. ONLY stipulation stated is standard health precaution and stay 2meters away from people on ice. THAT IS IT. 12 people skating, no swat teams or helicopters in sight. ;)

Not even the 10 person limit sign others referenced.

Carry on bros with a great weekend.

The good news: cases and positivity rates are going down.

The bad news: things with COVID happen so god damn slowly. We aren’t going to be where we need to be to open things up for a seriously long time.

Slowly getting better case wise, but likely will take another hit a few weeks after Xmas. I'd say after the next 6 weeks that things will start to look a lot better and will progress from there. Just need to get past that period.

My mom is still having a giant christmas party what should I do?

Show her this, and tell her the medical officer has been giving bad information. She has as much chance of dying as those who faced the Spanish flu.

COVID-19 Alberta statistics

The ICU's and Deaths didn't line up great, but after case count and hospitalisations. The next number bolded is the amount of people who've been in the ICU, the second number is the amount who've died.

Edit: This makes me so mad looking at it. Most of the people I know are having the elderly over for Christmas and think its no big deal. We could literally have a 50 person gathering for those under 50 and it would barely do anything to the health system.

Some guy on the Ottawa boards wrote this:

Mildly amusing: the 21-year-old arrested in Calgary video from yesterday was apparently Ocean Wiesblatt, Sharks 2020 1st rounder Ozzy Wiesblatt's brother (and once a very hyped prospect himself as a young teen, though he never quite panned out and went undrafted). Does kinda look like him.

Video of arrest at Calgary rink results in accusations of police ‘going overboard’
Man accused of defying COVID-19 restrictions on Calgary rink upset by arrest

Name seems correct.

Just curious how many friends/family folks have had test positive so far?
My French uncle in France got hit hard right at the start of COVID back in February. He didn’t get hospitalized but had to see his doctor several times. It took him over two months to recover. My aunt got it from him and was asymptomatic.

My good friends 14 year old son got it a few months ago from a school friend. He got a head ache and a bit of a cold for 4 days.

those are the only two I know. How about you? Or others?
