So many nights, Helly simply turned a no-win situation.....into a win.
Well deserved
Well deserved
When your goalie wins the Vez and you can’t even make the playoffs it shows how far away your team really is
But congrats Helly you beast

IIRC he's only the 2nd goalie in the last 40 years to win the Vez and not make the playoffs.

We've had our share of duds......although Khabibulin was an elite goalie imhoFinally, after Hamel, Mattson, Middlebrook, Smith, Dion, Staniowski, Soetaert, Hayward, Veiser, Behrand, Holden, Bouchard, Reddick, Berthiaume, Penney, Essensa, Chevrier, Draper, Beauregard, Tabaracci, Hrivnak, O'Neill, Cheveldae, Khabibulan, Roussel, Pavelec, C. Mason, Montoya, Hutchinson, Comrie, S. Mason and Brossoit we now have a Vezina winner in Hellebuyck!
Congrats. Still waiting for him to look like an elite goalie in the playoffs though. He's never stolen a big game/series, been outgoalied twice. Can't afford to pay him a Price money in 4 years.
Helle thrives when he's cocky about his game. Goalies are weird, man.Congrats. Don't go getting a swelled head now.
Let's play a game. Pick an NHL team. Any NHL team. Take away three of their starting defensemen in the off-season. Then at the last possible moment before the season begins, remove their one-of-a-kind star player unexpectedly, the one player who cannot possibly be replaced, because there's no one else quite like him in the league, for better or worse. Coincidentally, he also plays the same position of the three players you've lost. When your goalie wins the Vez and you can’t even make the playoffs it shows how far away your team really is
You gave me a nice list to choose from for my next avatar! I have already used 7 on your list and thought I would keep Helly until he won the vezinaFinally, after Hamel, Mattson, Middlebrook, Smith, Dion, Staniowski, Soetaert, Hayward, Veiser, Behrand, Holden, Bouchard, Reddick, Berthiaume, Penney, Essensa, Chevrier, Draper, Beauregard, Tabaracci, Hrivnak, O'Neill, Cheveldae, Khabibulan, Roussel, Pavelec, C. Dont worry I have a listThere should be a few nameless people coming out of the woodwork to eat crow here, tbh.

Now start the season with this team. How many teams in this situation are going to make the playoffs?
For bonus marks, ponder how stupid it makes you look if you blame the lack of success on coaching.
Next up, Berdin? You gave me a nice list to choose from for my next avatar! I have already used 7 on your list and thought I would keep Helly until he won the vezina
We did officially make the playoffs though, and we were in a playoff spot (by points not %) when the season suspended.
