Congrats to Backs! If it really is the end of the road for him in Calgary you really can’t ask for more from a member of the team both on and off the ice. Everything him and his wife have done for the community will always be remembered. I hope to see him win a cup before he hangs them up

Big congrats to Backlund. Well deserved and great speech.
On a side note, Backlund gets recognized by the leagues as the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community but couldn't even warrant the "C" for his own team. SMH.
