No surprises here. I didn't even know we signed Keeper. The AHL 6 slots are already taken before we've even sent 3 more down.

They didn't even wait to cut them all at the same time tomorrow.

Laval camp starts on Monday morning. So if they wanted guys that need to go through waivers to be available Monday morning, they needed to place them on waivers today.

The others that don't need waivers might be cut after tonight or latest tomorrow.

And of course, some guys who need waivers but the club needs to evaluate them more can be placed on waivers at a later date.

I imagine guys like Ylonen they're waiting until towards the end of pre-season so they can put him on the list and hope he sneaks through as there will be a lot of other players.
Looking at the list, the only ones beside Ylonen who require waivers are playing today. I thought there was more, but the team just has a lots of waiver-exempt kids to send down instead.

0 chance Ylonen gets waived. He's a cheap NHL caliber player and would definitely get picked up.
Is he NHL calibre if he’s barely capable of making the roster of one of the worst teams in the league?

Condo has 1 goal in 1 gp...Over a full season that's 82 goals folks.

We will miss his scoring touch and lovely smile :sarcasm:

It does remain to be seen imo. But for now, he brings needed speed to the 4th line. Evans plays well with fast forwards. So Ylonen fits better than Gallagher and Armia. So imo Armia and Gallagher should be battling with Pez for the last spot on the 4th line.

he's better than 6.5M Gally and 3.4M Armia, try to move them first

Ylonen is still improving, he's a serviceable middle 6 forward now and still has upside
You try and move them.

You're adding 2024 1st and Slaf, or Reinbacher to Gally. That's pretty much an easy no to sit and wait.

It cost Calgary a 1st to dump Monahan.

Be interesting to see what it costs Ottawa to dump Joseph, as it's likely going to cost Montreal a 2nd and a prospect to dump Armia.

Maybe they waive Armia instead, but being better than Gallagher and Armia isn't saying much.

Ylonen is still a low end player. You lose him on waivers it's no big deal.

Ylonen is the type of player that ends up on waivers and some idiot here would make a thread to claim him and that player passes through, or gets claimed by someone else and he's out of the league by the next year.
