Stretch every day, and skate as often as you can. After that, it's up to you. I like to do squats, leg lifts, and calf extensions to help with skating, though I confess I've really fallen off it this year.

Been working in the gym but think I need to start incorporating some running or biking since I am only skating once a week.

Chara cycles for an hour after games and said it has helped his recovery time. I feel like cycling is a good workout for hockey since it uses your hips unlike running.

If you've got a body that isn't athletic, no amount of conditioning will help you.

I'm 5-7 and weighed about 190Lbs - mostly muscle but I had a slight gut; Changed my eating and work out routines, now I'm 150Lbs.

Haven't been on a stationary cycle in a year.
