Malgin is just not quite good enough for the NHL but has bursts where he is. Problem is giving him a few games in a row shows he isn't good enough to be a regular.

Assuming Hunt is also garbage but I see at least he has some size.

Pair him with a scorer in the bottom 6 and he can do alright. Decent at driving play but sucks at finishing and is prone to some bad turnovers

Yeah Malgin had his opportunities in Toronto this year. Just wasn't good enough.
