Not really he still has the cockiness attitude.

Merkley is one of those offensive defensemen that doesn’t play defense but wonders why they don’t get playing time when they don’t produce offensively or provide defense for his team.

Kaut is an awesome person and has fan-favourite material, but the bloke is Walmart brand vanilla. Not many strengths and not a lot of ceilings. He just can't get space for himself and reduces his talent level a lot because the IQ and forecheque game is there.
