As a Wings fan, I respectfully disagree. I think Tampa the past two years challenge them, this year’s Avalanche likely beat them, and the 2011 Hawks being in the same tier.DET 2008 are the best team of the cap era.

Deff in upper tier of post cap winners though. A lot of good teams over the years
This year's Avs definitely don't beat that Wings team. No chance. As a Wings fan, I respectfully disagree. I think Tampa the past two years challenge them, this year’s Avalanche likely beat them, and the 2011 Hawks being in the same tier.

The 2019 Blues are one of those teams which are a lot better on the ice than they are on paper. I will be saying this later about 2006 Carolina. Don't underestimate teams that won without a name-brand superstar. These are playoff-built teams that win on depth. You look at them and think "no chance" and then find yourself down 2-0 in the series wondering what the hell happened.
That being said, 2008 Detroit is not a team you worry about losing in that manner. It wouldn't be a sweep, but the Wings would take the series eventually.
Yep. There are a few teams in this bracket I take the 2006 Canes over. Including the 2019 Blues, actually.
Some of the teams with big star power were actually pretty mediocre compared to this field. I'm thinking 2011 Bruins, 2017 Penguins, 2018 Capitals, etc. Lots of big names, but the actual measured performance wasn't anything to write home about save an incredible performance here or there.
The 2006 Hurricanes are a bit 'weird' in that they were a team perfectly suited to a league that was being called a very specific way, cause they had so much damn speed and such a potent PP, and it was probably the one year that PPs actually got called a bunch in the playoffs.
Wait St. Louis is a higher seed 14th, over the Kings 2012 Team? LOL. 2012 Kings would beat the St. Louis team in 5 or 6. But for this pole Wings for sure.
Voted StLouis. I saw that only one person so far voted for them. And, in the words of Bob Ross, everyone deserves a friend.
The 08 wings are a team that if advanced stats were tracked like they are now, they would likely be considered one of the most dominant teams ever. Not ahead of all time dynasty type teams, but I bet there hasnt been a team in history that played puck possession like that team top to bottom
