IF the oilers do trade Nuge, they will retian 50 % of his cap(if we trade him we are giving up on this year) to a team and getting a high pick and a good prospect from a team loading up
If Nuge told them tomorrow that he was probably not going to sign with the Oilers I still doubt they trade him, and certainly not for that return. Teams trade vaulable pieces all along for rentals for the playoffs. Nuge would effectively become a "free rental" for the Oilers".

A team that doesn't need another D (Oilers) trades for another D (Calvin de Haan). Yeehaw.

Yowsa. Strong "Eberle for Strome" vibes with this one. If Edmonton did that, I would imagine they would be selling off Nylander/deHaan for pennies on the dollar in a couple of seasons too, with nothing of value to show for RNH.

This is more like skipping Strome and trading Eberle for Spooner.

De Haan is a liability rather than an asset because of his cap hit.
