So, it was YOU (and about 50 other people) driving down our rural Delaware Co. road last night. 😉
We had more traffic between 10pm and midnight last night than is typically expected over an entire day. What a view, though! Hoping for more tonight. The Northern Lights were on my bucket list, and we didn’t see them in Finland when we went for the Global Series. Now, that is checked off the list. 🙂
Our rural DelCo road was never busier than the day of the eclipse.

Yeah the acquiring company already holds a hot chicken brand so who knows what happens.

HCT hasn’t been specifically local since founder Joe DeLoss sold it in 2021.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Hot Chicken Takeover, the central Ohio chain with a cult-like following, will revamp its locations and receive new branding after being sold to the restaurant group owned by the former CEO of Jimmy John’s.
I mean they haven't been the same since they were sold a few years ago but this sucks it is effectively the death of Hot Chicken in Columbus. I liked having a uniquely Columbus take on it. Now we'll be filled with ripoff chain restaurants trying to replicate Nashville hot chicken on a mass produced scale.

Anyone else think Sonic Temple looks a little weak this year? There's maybe two bands per day I would make a point to see but otherwise it's just a whole lot of meh
Yes.

I bought a 4 day pass dirt cheap on stubhub a couple of weeks ago to make it worth it but I think I'm only going Saturday/Sunday. I might go after work tomorrow to see the Misfits but I'm undecided. The band I want to see most out of everybody is Sleep Token.

Does HFBoards realize that the amount of ads they have on the website make the site near impossible to use and certainly not an enjoyable experience?

Doesn’t matter whether it’s my old iPhone, my new iPhone or my laptop. On the phones the site chokes, often doesn’t load, links sometimes need to be tapped multiple times to respond and the ads cover significant portions of the screen. On my laptop the ad at the bottom of the screen blocks navigation links half the time.

I suggested the site to the thousands of users on a football forum I use in an OT hockey thread. The general response I got was: the mobile version of the site felt like a Vegas casino with shot popping up everywhere and the site bogging down. Not sure anyone decided to register.

I understand the site needs advertising to continue providing the services it does but there is a point when too much is way too much and the ads make the site completely unusable. I know I could use an ad blocker.

I wish they’d meet the users of the site halfway, less ads so the site works fine that users don’t feel compelled to block.

No ads if you become a sponsor.

Interesting, had no idea, the site does a poor job of "advertising" this.

Here's a suggestion: use their wonderful :sarcasm: pop-up ad feature to very occasionally post a "Hate ads? Become a sponsor today and never deal with them again".

I cannot imagine I am in the vast minority who simply have a quick link/favorite to the CBJ board, almost never venture on to other boards, never bother with their profile page or glance at the ads. All I do in this forum is read CBJ threads and respond.

I wonder which teams have the most "sponsor" users. If the site wanted to get people to become sponsors they could hold a competition to see which team can get the most signed up.

I think that's out of the hands of the admin staff here but I'll happily pass those suggestions along.
