I really don't understand TOI this season. Booth played 2:22. And that's not even unusual. There's always 1 player who plays under 6 minutes. Sometimes 2.

Was it always like this and I just never noticed? Why would you put a player on your roster if you don't trust them with more than a couple minutes? Can a player even be effective if he has to sit around for an hour and then take one random shift?

Am I crazy or is that just damn weird?

The good news is, Detroit's about to go into tank mode, whether they like it or not.

I'm not sure about that. It depends on how desperate the competition is jockeying for position in the standings. Frankly some teams in a comfortable spot take games off at this point. After the TD last season Blashill was very conservative with their call-ups. Ended up going 8-10-3 the last 21 games... hardly tanking. The nutty belief in making the PO's isn't stopping either.

anyone else notice that Larkin is NEVER EVER out there when the opposing team has an empty net? You gotta think he'd be one of our most effective players in that situation. He could easily have 5+ more points or so if he got those opportunities. Think they're trying to save money on his upcoming contract?
