I think the Canadiens will match. I have thought this all along.

You don't take a 1st and 3rd for a player who you invested a 3rd overall pick on, especially when the 1st is probably going to be in the 20-30 range.

It is only a 1 year deal too.

The Hurricanes would have forced the Canadiens to think a little harder if they made the deal for several years, because the Canadiens would have had to decide whether they wanted to tie-up $6.1 million for KK for the long-term.
