I love how this is just going to be more pages of actual hate for the guy who’s been great attitude wise as a cane, this is a paper move for the deadline. He’s been available for awhile.

They aren’t getting rid of him because of any of his supposed issues, just because they want a defensive dman as the 7th. Not a pp specialist.
Glad he finally grew up after completely destroying his own career by not just shutting the f*** up for like 2 months.

Maybe. Or they just don't want DeAngelo on the team.
Why would Canes fans know what’s going on?

Or maybe he’s been available since Chatfield took his spot months ago as they offer a defensive type as their 7th guy. They wanted TDA as a third pair guy who was great on the pp but TDA/Orlov was a disaster so they switched it up.

If we hadn’t gotten Orlov, TDA probably would’ve been a regular all season including now.

So tell me about why the Canes don’t want him on the team? Do you have some evidence of him wearing out his welcome we’re missing?

The irony in this is Chuck Fletcher was dumb enough to give away a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round draft pick to give him yet another one of those chances.

And it wasn't even close to Fletchers dumbest move.

And the guy that hired him is in the Flyers Hall of Fame. No wonder we suck.

Flyers need depth on defense and a PP QB

Surely you jest.

Chuckle's the clown is the worst GM in the history of the NHL!

Hell no! That twat is poison in the room, and he was part of the "culture" that needed to be removed. His subtraction was an addition to the current Flyers team.

I’m convinced that guy is either Tony or someone close to him. The spin on the Georgiev incident is like those family members swearing their guy’s innocence despite all the evidence.

Dunno if the dude has grown up at all, but there are 31 nhl teams who don’t think he’s worth it.
The georgiev bit is 100% spot on. The whole locker room hated him. Theres a reason georgiev in his first trip back to msg with colorado flipped off the entire rangers bench.

Idk why people think this is a crazy haha

Someone might pick him up if the Canes are willing to eat 50% of his contract for future considerations.

I was assured at the beginning of the season by many Carolina fans that this was going to be a great move and that Tony would really turn it around again because it's a magical place where he somehow is actually good instead of absolutely terrible like he is everywhere else. In spite of my concerns that he would be utterly useless now that his "role" had been taken by a much much better player in Burns.

Hmmm...

I wonder how much money this guy is going to lose overall in his career for being a jackazz. I mean at least be a smart jackazz and keep it away from your employment. Maybe he has learned by now who knows.

What are you talking about? His buyout from the Flyers and being scratched/waived by Hurricanes were purely hockey related. He's just not that good

I know deangelo comes with other baggage, but I've always wondered why these talented offensive-defensemen don't get a crack at playing on the wing. Would take some learning but when the raw ability is there you'd think it's worth a shot if they could still contribute.
My guess would be. Defense generally holds more value than forward until you get into the star center level of forward. So I’d wager that changing position from one that it is easier to have value in it if you can play it (defense) to out of position to one that it is harder to have value in (forward) isn’t exactly a good move for a player living on the fringes trying to stay in the NHL. Unless a team came to a player and said we specifically was to sign you to try and convert you to forward to fill X role in our roster. I doubt many players would want to put forth the effort to convert from defense to forward.

Ok, then why was DeAngelo the one who got cut? It’s possible they’re both assholes, but the team’s response was telling.
