Hahaha! It's comical at this point.
Barzal is stupid good.
Don't know why Lavi isn't getting the guys off the ice. They got their butts handed to them tonight ... can't fix that with a bunch of words (or punches) after the final horn.
This team has no shot in hell these playoffs. It’s not about the random rough stretch. Even in wins they are getting territorially outplayed, no cup winning team gets hemmed in as much as this one. They lose way too many puck battles for a big, slow team. I have no expectations.
It's okay to admire elite players from other teams (which Barzal is)....Respect is respect. Does not mean that I am not Caps forever....Why aren't you an isles fan yet?
They’re actually not all that physical outside of Wilson and Chara. At least not effectively physical, ie they really don’t separate opponents from the puck all that well on either end of the ice, with a couple exceptions. Not just speed that killed us tonight but we lost 80% of the puck battles. You can focus on various issues - mistakes, goaltending, etc.
As years go by, the fundamental problem with the Caps never changes -- they're a slow-ass team. When it matters, they get put on their heels by elite teams, and then the flaws get exposed.
Physicality can help close the gap a bit, but it's not nearly enough as a solution in modern NHL.
Caps need to be 100% in tune and passing also needs to be at 100% to have a chance to counteract the lack of speed. It's a tall order, and we should be very happy that they were able to put it all together in 2018.
you can’t back down to that chirping after that beating unless you’re a coward. Not saying do anything suspendible after the final whistle but stick up for yourself.
