Still trying to cut some remaining salary and looking for entry level deals for forwards rated high enough to skate in a 4th line capacity as a priority.
G Antti Raanta - Raanta had a fantastic year and rated out to a 70 overall and would be a solid 1a or 1b for several teams out there, but his salary is a bit prohibitive behind helleybuck. $3.3 million or so. we would love to swap a forward here that fits the above description.
D Wyatt Kalynuk - same deal with Wyatt. he's available for trade after just signing with the Canucks. he still has some upside at his age and has performed well at the AHL level. he just needs a time investment.
D Robin Salo - Robin played quite a few NHL games last year with various degrees of success. he profiles a bit like his father as a stay at home guy with puck moving ability. he just signed a $1.6 million over 2 years extension with the Islanders on a 1 way deal, so he'll be up with the team for good this year most likely.
D Joel Edmundson - Good balance of SK and ST for a stay at home defender with good checking and good defensive ratings. players that can play the heavy game and move at a decent clip are sought after. we would need a defensive replacement for this player that comes in under the $4.5 million her currently makes.
Priority will go to forwards on good deals or ELC, followed by D of the same kind and then draft picks.
