Anyone know the most number of Canucks awards finalists in a season?

Pretty sure it was 2011.

Jennings - Luongo/Schneider (won)
Selke - Kesler (won)
Adams - Vigneault
GM of the Year - Gillis (won)
Pearson - Daniel Sedin (won)
Art Ross - Daniel Sedin (won)
Hart - Daniel Sedin
Vezina - Roberto Luongo
Adams - Vigneault

Pretty cool but disappointing for Vigneault to be nominated for the Adam’s twice but not win.

Jennings is award to the goalie tandem that allows the least number of goals through a minimum of 25 games.

Vezina is voted on.

Ah thanks for the clarification.

Jennings would need no nomination I guess, as numerically it would be pretty clear, right?

I'm surprised that either Sedin had never been even a finalist for Lady Byng.

This has basically become the “lowest PIMs” award - and the Twins, for all their sportsmanship, took a fair amount of hooking and tripping penalties.

I get having a stat line to reference for an award such as this, but some of the game’s most sportsmanlike players miss out on it for trips and hooks that happen to pretty much everyone that plays.

Regardless of how this season turns out, it will surely still set a record for the number of Canucks up for major NHL awards.

You've got Tocchet as coach of the year; Allvin as GM of the year; Hughes a finalist for the Norris; Demko for the Vezina; and now Pettersson for the Lady Byng.

Canuck fans will probably be waiting a long time to see another season like it.

He really deserved to win it last season, IMO. Bit outrageous that he wasn't a finalist then.

Hard to say that he deserves even the finalist spot this season considering how poorly he played down the stretch.

I think "draws a lot of penalties" plays a factor too. Because he falls down a lot, which convinces refs he was fouled. He's not diving or selling it, he just..... falls.

This award seems to draw a lot of snickers in recent times, but if Petey wins it, he'll be joining the following past winners:

- Gretzky (5 times)
- Datsyuk (4 times)
- Mike Bossy, Marty St. Louis, Ron Francis (3 times)
- Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita, Joe Sakic

The award is for "Best type of sportsmanship combined with a high standard of playing ability".

The reaction from our own fans to this news is disgustingly yet not surprised

People who are still tearing him up need to put down their phone and go outside

the other big year was 1992

calder: bure (won)
adams: quinn (won)
vezina: mclean (2nd)

slightly less impressive, haha

although mclean finishing 4th in hart voting gets forgotten and imo he should have been 3rd

Was pretty cool when Luongo let Schneider share that Jennings trophy win but letting have the requisite starts. You know he'd normally prefer to start all 82 games
