why has he been in the minors for the whole season? is it due to recovering from injury? he is a bust?...prolly too early to tell...do you think like most teams they (CHICAGO) regret passing up radulov in the draft? and one final question..was smid a safer pick of a defenseman at the 2004 draft? Thanks :help:

He broke his foot/ankle at the start of the season and so Chicago sent him to Norfolk to get some games under his belt.

Alzner reminds me a great deal of Barker. Solid defensively, gifted in the offensive zone, and an excellent skater. They're even similar in height and weight. Ultimately, while Alzner has produced a great deal against his peers, I feel that he encounters the same struggles adapting to the pro game when compared to those in his draft class.

He is far from a bust. As was mentioned, he was injured earlier in the season and is still adjusting to the pro game. If not for the log jam at defense in Chicago he would probably be in the NHL right now. Even without trading a defenseman, we may see him in Chicago in the very near future if the PP continues to struggle.
