With an assist last night he takes sole possession of 30th all-time in playoff points among dmen in just his 5th full season (6th playoff season which is of course what matters in this context).

His assist jumped him ahead of some impressive names like Rob Blake, Brent Burns, Gary Suter, and Alex Pietrangelo.

With at least one more playoff series guaranteed, it's quite conceivable he can jump up to 24th (needs 7 points to tie Dan Boyle). If the Avs go to the finals he has an outside shot at top 20 this year.

Might not be thread worthy but I think it's pretty insane how fast he's moving up the leaderboard.

the list for those curious, Makar is 29th now. Pretty crazy.

edit: List is missing Red Kelly, who has 92 points but more games than Bobby Orr so he should be #18. Makar is #30.

That’s really insane when you think about it. Just off the top of my head, one guy not on that list is Phil Housley who had a 20 year, 1500 game, 1200 point career as a pure offensive defenseman in a high scoring era… Makar already has 30% more playoff points than him.

There’s nothing certain about his career playing out in such a way that he could pass Coffey, but even being in that conversation is really special.

Wow, impressive! I can see him getting to the top 5-10 if Colorado continues to have a competitive team as the years go on.

Crazy to see Ray Bourque on that list despite all the years the Bruins were mediocre in the 80s and 90s.

Guy is such a beast. Generational D-man.

He could end his career at the top of the list. Only question mark I have is his durability.
