He was never signed by Winnipeg; was one of the better players for Ilves in the Liiga playoffs.

He turns 24 this month and has put up mediocre numbers so his ship may have sailed in terms of NHL potential.

Any chance he gets a look as a free agent or is it more likely he heads to Sweden or the KHL?

A great 4th liner for Ilves for sure but the NHL ship is long gone. Has had a ton of injuries and trouble with his heart etc and he even said recently in an interview that he no longer dreams of the NHL but dreams that he can stay healthy in life and playing professional hockey is a bonus. The KHL right now is a no-go for Finns but he may move on to Sweden or Switzerland in the future but right now is signed with Ilves for next season. A very liked guy among Ilves fans.
