I'm assuming Chucky will be back, I imagine with Balinskis being called up Ekblad will be joining Verhaeghe in the out for regular season group. I don't know what happened to the team of the first 55 games or so. Ever since that loss to the Flyers on March 7 it's been downhill. The PP tic tac toe play isn't working anymore and as a result the powerplay like 5% the past dozen games, Kulikov has single handedly cost 4 goals the last 2 games, Montour is playing like it's his first year in the pros. Throw in that when Swaggy and Ekblad return they'll have rust, definitely reason to be concerned. When your goalies who put up an .800sv% the past 2 games have been the best part of your team, things are going poorly. At least games vs Ottawa are always fun?

I made the OP before any of these updates but it was obvious, even more concerning than Ek's skating is IDK how much a player that is guaranteed to miss 20+ games a year is worth. I know if this is playoffs he'd be in but dude is always hurt.

Not just Ekblad. Barkov hasn't played more than 70 games since 18-19. This year will (likely) be the first since.

To be fair though, two of those years were shortened seasons.
