If we can't get a value deal at the deadline I would be looking to add a couple of second round picks and or firsts in this deep draft. Krug would be my top priority in moving.

Lassi Thomson is one I would be looking at in the second round.

PMD with the stud D producing Kelowna Rockets of the WHL at 18 yrs old with 40 points and projected in round 2.

What would it take to land Kreider? Even tho he’s almost exclusively a LW.
Would something around JFK + Vaak get it done?

Watching Rags vs Kings.

If Namestnikov can play Center (he did for Tampa, but not in NY), I would go after him and Kreider.

Stick has speed to burn, plays in all three zones, and I just saw him go at it in front with Phaneuf and Doughty for 30 seconds. He’s no pushover. I can’t believe his point totals are so low in NY.

63-37-88
Kreider-46-22
74-Stick-43

Toffoli just ended it in OT after Zibanejad hit the post at the other end and LA brought it back up ice.

Not a “savior” but a damn decent upgrade on a position they needed to upgrade.

McKenzie did a projected cap hit for next yr with the leafs and he Had Mathews in at 11.5 and Marner at 10 with the projection of the cap jumping up to 85 mil, but the leafs can only use 83.8 towards it do to 1.2 retained from kessels salary.

He had them in under it of course with no additions and no Jake Gardner or Connor Brown.

He expects Mathews to be signed in a day or two.

The fact that Pastrnak is the only natural RW in that top 9 worries me a bit. If only Kreider was a RW.

I was against going after Toffoli but if he can be had for cheap, it may be worth it. Either that or Nyquist. I can’t think of any non-rentals that could be on the move that are better than that.

Toffoli would be a perfect winger for David. He's got a good shot and speed to go with it lots of playoff games and knows how to a win . From his interviews a good locker room presence as well. Hope Donny can swing a deal.

Yeah, I could see how that might be a worry.

Even though Saad is LH, he has played the right side more than the left going back to junior from what I have been told.

Why don’t the B’s grab Saad and Namestnikov and call it a day? :D

Toffoli is totally a Michael Ryder, great comparison. He's a decent 2nd line guy and a great 3rd line guy.

With all due respect to Cheechoo, Toffoli, & Ryder, Glen Murray was on another level. I feel like people forget what an insanely good goal scorer he was for a few years. Some of it was obviously playing with Thornton, but Murray was very good.

@PlayMakers Ryder comparison is spot-on IMO.

Cehlarik to Krejci to Toffoli and in.

He also had no extra F or D which wont happen. Literally 12F and 6D.

He also had two goalies for a total of a twenty man roster

He said with call-ups from the A they can make it work, that's assuming his salarys for Mathews/Marner/Kapanen and Johansson are all in the Ball park.
