Wonder if they will send Kampfer down when they have to bring Moore back. They could lose him on waivers.

Clifton doesn't have to go through waivers yet, so I'm sure he'll be the guy

edit- Now I see Clifton is in tonight and therefore will require waivers. So who knows what they're gonna do

Maybe they think the second year on Kampfer's deal will allow him to sneak through waivers :dunno:

Good point. And with Moore and Miller coming back as well as Vaak showing he is NHL ready, maybe they aren’t so concerned if Kampfer is claimed. He is essentially the number 10 D man now and Zboril and Lauzon can both probably give what he does as well.

If we have to lose Kampfer due to depth then we wish hike well and let him know we appreciated his service. I like the guy and hope he stays, but I believe we have the depth to play younger guys if we lose him and need a fill-in.

I'm no Evan Gold, but I'm crunching numbers and possibilities. With the Bruins close to coming out of LTIR when Miller is cleared (or should I say if?) how do they get under the cap?

Kuhlman to Providence when he comes off IR
Senyshyn stays on LTIR until cleared and then back to Providence
Gaunce back to Providence (for Backes)
Kampfer waived and to Providence (for Miller)

One body would still need to go down when Ritchie comes off IR - maybe Ritchie himself.

Bingo - cap compliant and now banking cap space for trade deadline

How much space do you estimate we'll have for the deadline?

I think he was suppose to be 4 weeks. Anyone know where we are on this one. Has it been only 2, or is it 3 weeks he has been out.
What was the injury ? lbi ?

Little bit of research goes a long way.
Looks like a knee, and it happened on 12/12.
Do not see injury update though.

According to CapFriendly, John Moore is "back on" LTIR.

Think I know what they (the Bruins) are doing here and Moore will be back to finish his conditioning stint on the weekend.

If I assume correctly, I am sending Evan Gold a Christmas present.

Cap management can be super tricky. I know when i expressed some of these concerns many times in the past, people wanted to tell me not to worry

But the truth is theres often more than 23 contracts counting

Ltir isnt a straight forward thing and it never increases your cap... if you are using ltir then you are maxed out

Waiver considerations and limits on callups do come into consideration

We havent even mentioned bonus money getting earnt

Im glad bruins have a bangup guy on it... its all well beyond my pay grade... but every year i see simple minded solutions to these very complex problems. Ive said time and again its much more complex

Thanks for sharing dom... i find this business side of things fascinating
