Here's Blessing's really long interview with (Foley's Hockey Advisor) Murray Craven from his show today.

I heard a small part of it live, some good stories about the process that they went through prior to the hockey effort going public, team names, etc. I'll listen to it again tomorrow and give a cliffs notes if someone doesn't get to it before me.

From what I heard, it's worth a listen. Blessing is always awesome and Murray seemed very forthcoming.

I've been doing a little listening while doing test prep.

My notes so far

-They are very far off from finalizing the name. To the point where they're open to suggestions.

-Lots of Foley praise.

-They didn't feel confident they'd actually get the team until a few days prior. I don't buy that. Seems like forced humility but whatever.

-Getting the practice facility in Summerlin up and running is "paramount"

-He admits the crowd every night will likely have a good contingent of out of town fans, while he says Foley expects a packed house of Vegas locals every night.

-The ticket drive, as expected, was a lot more important to the success of this movement than most of the detractors here on HF suggested.

-I believe I heard some mention of a jersey exchange? I wasn't totally paying attention to that line but if there's some kind of 1 old jersey for a discounted new jersey deal in the works I'd be all over that.

-Lmao, Murray says "I'm from Canada...I don't really care about Quebec City getting a team" That would be sure to piss of spurned Quebecors

You'd think with as much time as I spend here I'd have remembered to listen.

I'll get on it now unless you think you've pretty much hit it.

Maybe I missed some stuff cause my attention would waver (I was working on logical reading comprehension so that definitely happened fairly often)

I've gotten to a point where they're just talking about Craven's personal history with hockey so I'm gonna stop at almost the hour mark.

Where is the summerlin facility going? While I highly doubt it, having it open to the public for some drop ins would be amazing.

Downtown Summerlin ish.

From the interview it sounded like it will be open to the public for the occasional free skate and local hockey. Don't know about drop ins though.

Yep, although I'm on IR for the next 12 months. There are mens leagues and drop ins practically every day/night

Check out the Vegas Valley Hockey group on Facebook. They put up all the drop in times.
