I'm sure it could be improved, but I doubt it would help much.

Only person I've seen in here mentioned as a Canuck already that has better potential than Pirri is Virtanen. Rodin I have little to no faith he is anything more than a 13/14th forward if at all NHL worthy. Etem is what he is, a bottom 6 speedster with nothing really else.
The Canucks scored like a handful of goals more than the Toronto Maple Laughs who literally tanked from July 1, 2015 on. Even adding those 12-15 goals that are probably most realistic from him rather than a complete homerun style 25.

Oil already have Yak, who is basically Pirri without the cement skates. Calm down. I said basically.

That said, if his agent had any sense he would be sending flowers to the Oil head office with his card and a note begging them to give his client a one year contract. One year in the Oil top-9 and some enterprising GM (Anette Benning? No that's wrong. Jim Benning.) would give him a 25 million dollar contract.

I think Vesey is holding up a few depth forwards that are left.

Skate is a technical movement...not mechanical (like walking or running)..it can be tweaked or changed. I guess it depends though on how open the person is to that change.

Leon Draisaitl (although younger) looked pretty slow for the NHL in his rookie season ...and it showed as he struggled a lot. Over the summer he stuck around in Edmonton and changed/worked on his skating. Last season he looked quick and was even able to keep up with Taylor Hall

Hes probably good for 20 goals if he plays 82. He should definitely be on a team.

one way 20 goal scorers often do far less to help you that 3 zone 14 goal scorers do.

pirri will need to find a gm that values 1 dimensional under achievers far more highly than i do if hes hoping to be offered more than a pto this season.

reminds me a bit of brandon bochinski or dave pasin or even dmitri kvartalnov, vladamir ruzicka, and ken hodge jr from my bruins history... 20-30 goal scorers that sucked and were out of the league within 2 years

I've always been curious why this guy hasn't stuck either. I've always like him the few times I've seen him play he hasn't looked bad. Was really surprised when Blackhawks moved him, and now he can't even find a home...

Like others said must be some pretty big warts on playing all three zones if he's had this much trouble being signed and traded so much in his career. I hope he gets his act together for some team.

Its not surprising the takers for Pirri are so few

- Is awful defensively
- Poor skater
- Is extremely hot/cold when it comes to offensive production

One way wingers who don't have talent to play top 6 role , 3rd line Checking role or grinding 4th line role just aren't all that valuable

He is type that will bounce around league for a few years and then wash out in early 30's

Pirri has one NHL skill. His shot. It is an all star caliber skill, but the rest of his game is so lacking that if his shot isn't working, he is a huge net negative for his team until a game gets to a shoot out.

Pirri would have a place on every roster if the NHL adopted the 19 man roster like was used in the olympics. PP and SO specialist. Since that is not the case, he doesn't fit in the NHL.

A lot of prospects are starting to eliminate jobs for guys like Pirri.

You need to be able to skate and play a 200 ft. game to make an NHL squad, and NHL teams are starting to press this more and more in their farm system.

100% agree with this. So many prospects are more NHL ready than ever. Barzal for the Isles is the perfect example.
