I sure hope not, but it's not impossible. When you win a championship, you tend to be in demand.

Heck, even if he leaves, maybe we can bring him back in another capacity further down the road.
Yeah, we weren't going to be able to keep Bednar in the minors forever. He had a shot at getting the position with the Blue Jackets, but there happened to be someone available with a good deal of NHL experience and a good track record, so...

One thing to remember, Bednar is a head coach, while Shaw is considered a defensive specialist, which is what the CBJ want. They might be looking to groom Bednar for a different position.

Bednar possibly leaving is a chance to turn the fortunes of the Blue Jackets with puck control. The team could go from contending to dynasty times with a more advanced playbook lurking in the depths of Lake Erie. Would only need to headhunt someone who is well-travelled in the ways of playbook instead of teaching culture of work or plain wins. Someone more of a job seeking magician than kinder garden teacher.

Not to mention Tortorella has a reputation for bringing in "his guys." (Mike Sullivan is one example). And while it'd be nice to keep Bednar, Tortorella should pick the staff he thinks he works with best.

Didnt we already hire the Falcons head coach like two seasons ago to the staff because he was a young up and coming head coach? How many do you need in your coachinig staff?

Blues definitely miss Shaw. Glad to see he's doing well with you guys!

Yes. The Blues loss was definitely the CBJs gain. The defense is so much better and it's not only the infusion of a couple young players. The defensive structure and puck movement out of the zone is light years ahead of last season.

Meanwhile the Blues' defense, which is the same group as last year, doesn't look nearly as good (outside of Pietrangelo and Parayko). You'd be hard pressed to find a Blues fan that doesn't miss him.

Your loss our gain, Thank You. We are much improved with Shaw and he should get all the credit for the play of the D this year, it's not the 2 new kids responsible for all of this teams defensive growth.

Shaw has done a terrific job remaking our defensive system & zone coverage - we get a little bunched up at times when the puck is below the net. almost like we lose patience, but our defense is light years better than it ever has been. Jones had taken a huge step, but Savard and Murray are better than before & Johnson is playing his career best hockey right now.

Werenski & Nutivarra, well they are the schitt right thar.. if I were ever to buy a jersey & I won't (due to past jinx) it would be one of those guys or my new favorite bruiser Josh Anderson.
