In all seriousness this actually is a good deal. Krug is an impressive player.

250-500k too high, but he was not expendable... We couldn't lose him. He's only 25 and he played like a quality top-4 defenseman last year. That's the price they'll demand, he also took a very team-friendly deal when we were cap strapped so you have to give him a bit extra to make up for that.

If he can continue playing like a top-4 guy, this deal is absolutely fine by me. Wait until free agency, then this'll look like a great deal. 40-45 points, far from a pushover defensively, very important leader. Couldn't lose him.

Too much when compared to Vatanen's deal. Not terrible in a vacuum, but slight overpays like this add up quickly.
