Blues have almost $10 mil in cap now. No problem signing Parayko and can still go out and acquire someone(if needed).

Wonder what the condition is? 2018 is tough to give up man. Liking the trade right now though.

He's not a center. He's a LW/RW. I imagine we'll play him at RW.

He's a top six winger, scores mostly on the PP for his production. We lost cap space, but I like the acquisition. So now we need to dump Gunnarsson.

Condition to push the 1st to 2019 is HUGE. Couldn't be happier with this trade.

the way i interpret this is that if the pick is top 10, we can push it back. if it's >10 then we lose it no matter what

If he is a winger then we don't need to move Gunnarsson for cap space because Barbashev will come into the top-9. However, is he a winger? I seen him playing centre last season, and he had 500 faceoffs so he must have spent some time there.

If he can win 47% of faceoffs and is a scoring threat, then playing him between Tarasenko and Schwartz is absolutely a possibility.

So 2 firsts for Schenn? Hope he gets better

2 firsts AND Lehtera for Schenn. With the option to keep our 2018 pick.

EDIT: if the option is only to push back the pick if it is top 10, then I like this trade a bit less.

The way I read it, it's if it's top 10, Philly doesn't get a pick at all, but if not top 10, we can choose if they get a 2018 or 2019 pick.

Who knows. Normally when picks are top-whatever protected then it is automatic and there is no penalty in pushing it.
