I think a lot of you were bang on in your assessment of Coleman. After 19 games he's currently on pace for a 25 pt season. I think some were hoping for about 40 pts but I doubt that is going to happen.

Can’t really blame the guy for taking a while to acclimate himself. He just left a literal super team coming off two deep playoff runs with a condensed offseason, moved to Canada for the first time in his life, and joined probably the most system reliant team in the league.

Said it when we acquired him and I’ll say it again, after this years playoffs I think he will be a fan favorite if he isn’t already.

Even if he were shooting at his career average he would be on pace for 26 goals while getting zero powerplay time.. He's an elite even strength player. Can't complain about him to date. I'd attribute his slow start in large part to Backlund being MIA for the first 30-35 games of the season.

Could you imagine how him and Mangiapane would be producing if Calgary had a legit top 6 centre?
Like a guy who's been a 0.75-1 ppg player regardless of linemates; this team would be something else.

Especially a high end puck distributor. Having Claude Giroux between those two would be incredible.

Best defensive forward in the league. He's the kind of guy that scores super ugly goals in the playoffs.

Re-unite him with Gourde

Not saying it's something I'd kill to have happen, BUT
Mangiapane - Gourde - Coleman
is an absolute dream of a line. Just a pure identity, defense, scoring, everything line. Just Mangiapane, centre Mangiapane, and Defensive specialist Mangiapane on the same line. It's the closest we could ever get to the long-standing questionof if a team of Mangiapane's would win a cup

If Gourde didn't have a super rich contract that extended until 2025, that would be unreal.

But with our cap situation, perhaps a Jared McCann would be a better choice.

Dude looked absolutely snakebit for the first 30 games or so hitting posts and missing empty nets, meanwhile his linemate Eat Bread just burying every loose puck that bounces onto his stick. Nice to see him finally heating up and more comfortable though.

Coleman is finally playing like I hoped he would. I couldn't be happier.

He is a volume shooter. He is 3rd behind only Johnny and Tkachuk. Last year he had more shots than stamkos lol.

That doesn’t mean his shot is any good but if you shoot enough….

I always thought the story of players drinking pickle juice was a joke.

I was wrong about Blake Coleman (going back, not recently). The guy is a gem and I have utmost respect for what he's doing on this team (with little PP time and 2nd line minutes). 25 goals, +26, 4 SHG. Just incredible to be honest.

He is the epitome of the type of player we were known for, and the type of player I love on my team.

I have said many times I'll take heart/compete over skill anyday.
