Marlies Discussion: Blake Kessel invited to Marlies camp.

Phil's little brother is coming to Toronto to try out for the Toronto Marlies.

He's a 25 year old mobile defenceman who played his first professional season in the AHL for Philadelphia but then has basically been an ECHL defenceman. The Marlies will likely sign him even if he doesn't make the team. He can be a player on our ECHL affiliate and come up to Toronto when the Marlies need his services. I wonder if living with Phil could help him get it together and stick with the Marlies. Blake also played with James van Riemsdyk and Eric Knodel in college at University of New Hampshire. If he were to sign, his ECHL destination would be Orlando, Florida. Not a bad place to play ECHL hockey.

He played in Orlando last year too, I doubt the Marlies sign him. Imo, Mikkelson would be a better option for the Marlies.

Kessel and Mickelson have both signed AHL contracts. Prolly means headed for the E. If either had Ahl teams interested in their services, they would have signed Ahl deals a while ago.

Both are likely going to the ECHL. Marshall will be 7th defenseman. Either of them will only have a spot unless we feel like Knodel or Finn aren't ready for the AHL yet. Nilsson isn't going to go to the ECHL.
