2000 170th overall Henrik Lundqvist-Detroit

2001 291st overall Niclas Wallin-Detroit

2001 260th overall Brandon Bochenski-Calgary

2001 238th overall Zbynek Michalek-Calgary

Here are some random picks from the early draft. Any steals from the later drafts and who is the biggest steal ever in HFNHL History?

Oh, DRAFT history... ;)

I've gotta admit, Drew's got a good history of turning out steady performers in the mid rounds. If Lundqvist continues to play at the level he did this season, I'd have to agree that he's the best steal going to date.

You don't know how much it pained me to say that. :p:

Touche Tony, Touche.

But I would trade Campoli for Trevor Daley and Brad Richardson!
Campoli was still a great find at that point.
I think all the players Martin listed are pretty good steals this late.

As the only ones to yet have made any impact in the HFNHL are Nurminen, Lilja and Wallin, I'd have to say that Nurminen, even if he only played one season for me, had probably the biggest impact so far. I traded him for Joe Corvo, Jim Sharrow and Konstantin Zakharov. Too bad Zakharov didn't pan out, but Corvo is a nice 2-way defenseman while still playing at league minimum and Jim Sharrow is one of ATL's top defensive prospects.

In that same year there we 2 other steals --

2001 230th overall Andrew Alberts - had a great rookie campaign w/ Boston.
2001 247th overall Jonathon Ferland - had a cup of coffee last season with Montreal and just re-signed with them yesterday.
