Both had been mocked mercilessly and left for dead in their careers. Now they are 2 games away from a Stanley Cup final. Who has had the bigger bit of redemption this postseason?
I mean... how much credit does Paul Maurice even deserve? Bobrovsky's saved over 17 goals above expectation. Panthers haven't really been the better team in most games, Bobrovsky's just been out-goalieing the opposition.
While Bob is on the spotlight, Maurice is getting his redeem.
I do like his style of for lightening the mood, I feel like it suits the playoffs. If it looks like the head coach is carrying too much stress on his shoulders, it might affect the players, and I feel like Maurice is one of the guys who can carry himself well under stress.
Bob because a much smaller % of people follow NHL head coach narratives. And rightly so. I bet Maurice would want it that way. Head coaches aren’t meant to take bows at the end.
Bob given lots of people were exploring the buyout cost of him only a year ago. Or trying to figure out how many 1st round picks Florida would need to attach in a trade.
Definitely Bob. If Bob wasn't standing on his head and Tkachuk wasn't scoring clutch goals, Florida would have been eliminated and no one would be talking about Maurice. Also, Florida only managed to get into the playoffs because Pittsburgh lost their way out of the playoffs, it's hard to give Maurice credit for the playoff success when the regular season was mediocre.
