Great news. I was very impressed with Bernier during the pre-season and rookie camp.

I'd really like to see what he can do. Very exciting to have Michalek, Goc, Schaefer, Ehrhoff, Clowe, and Bernier all up at the same time. Times like this makes me happy that I shelled out for Centre Ice.

Our org. ranking will probably take a pretty big hit next season (even if Bernier does get sent back down) But as long as our rookies live up to potential I could care less about org ranking.

edit- Sharks official site confirms

Will play vs. Anaheim tonite

So what 2003 first rounders have yet to play in the NHL at this point?

Kostitsyn (doing alright for a sophomore in the AHL)
Boyle
Tambellini
Belle
Jessiman (good chance of busting BTW, shame, because it was all those injuries that stalled his development)
Stuart
Pouliot
Fehr

The bottom line is they all will get a good shot to play in the NHL at some point.

#10 overall Andrei Kostitsyn
#12 overall Hugh Jessiman
#18 overall Eric Fehr
#21 overall Mark Stuart
#22 overall Marc-Antoine Pouliot
#26 overall Brian Boyle
#27 overall Jeff Tambellini
#30 overall Shawn Belle

And there are some very good names on that list. Jessiman looks like the only weak pick of the 1st round. Quite a few on this list are expected to live up to and exceed expectations.

Really makes you appreciate how deep the draft really was.
