Standings determined by my predictions and using nhllotterysimulator.com (30. CGY, 29. COL, 28. CBJ, 27. NJD etc). Still too early obviously but I'm wondering who you guys think will rise as this year's draft is very wide open compared to 2015 & 16. I think Oettinger or Luukkonen or could be 1st rounders but I've left them off for now. Potential Risers are listed in no order after the top 31. Looking forward to any feedback, Cheers

Not a fan of Vaakanainen?

Definitely accidentally left him off of the Potential Risers list haha. But being injured for a bit hasn't helped, I expected him to be doing what Salo/Heiskanen are doing although he has plenty of time to turn it around. I actually had him at #9 on my preliminary ranking and this early players are going to bounce on and off these lists until they solidify in the spring. For me personally he's just on the cusp of the 1st, but he could blow up into the top 15 or higher. We'll see I guess.

Heiskanen has been really good but boston won't take him their 1st pick.
Boston needs high-end forward prospects so they'll take center or winger.

You're one of the first posters I've seen with Pettersson in the top-10... me gusta

Gotta think Minulin makes the 1st round... what's the knock on him? A 6"2 shut down RD that's scored 18 points in 17 games in the W so far.

Wow, what a terrific audience.

Don't think the Jets will go with another goalscorer in Tippet. Nabbing Connor and then Laine has probably cemented pure goalscorers in our top 9.

Personally I'd like Hischier, Foote and then Andersson. I think they are most likely to go with a Center or Defencemen.
Hischier is my go to though. I have him in my top 5. Kid is a really good skater, has speed to burn and is a wizard with the puck. He would fit in so well with the direction our team is going. Speed and skill. Foote is my second option because we need a shutdown & transition dman like him. Trouba was that for us but I think Foote could have a higher ceiling.

I like Minulin too but from multiple accounts Scouts haven't been impressed with his skating and say he is is too upright and doesn't get proper acceleration. I have him going very early 2nd round

Comtois is a lock in the top 7

I'd say swap Rassmussen with comtois and it's pretty solid

Like I said earlier, this list will continue to change and based on his slow start, I think slipping out of top-10 is warranted. I expect his production to increase, but you cannot say 7-8 months before the draft that he's a "Top 7" lock with 22 GP 13 P, or that ANYONE is a top 7 lock aside from the top 2-3. If he finishes less than a PPG in the Q that will definitely hurt his stock.

I think I posted my opinions in your last list. If I recall right, I think you bumped Liljegren down a spot; I'm glad. I still think he is too high, but we'll let the rest of the year decide that. I'm stoked to see Hague as the number 2 d, foote 3rd, and it looks like you moved Valimaki up too; if nothing else, I think you have him as 4th D now.

I won't be surprised if he ends up in a lot of ppls top-15s.

Tippet could rise too.

I am pretty ignorant when it comes to some of these players, as far as your really high end ones, Tolvanen stands out. I have never watched a single full game he was in.

No Teasdale in the notable mentions? I think he's top-20ish perhaps calibur.

I'm going to 'update' my list even tho I only had a top 5. I won't be doing a full rd, I don't know enough players good enough to differentiate that deep.

1. Nolan Patrick
2. Gabe Vilardi
3. Vesalainen
4. Valimaki
5. Hague
6. Tippet
7. Kailer
8. Ivan Lodnia
9. Foote
10. Liljegren
11. Klim Kostin
12. Hischier

I think this stuff is real neat in retrospect. How fast things radically change.
Comtois a lock for top 7, hehe. Not you, but the other poster.

Haha, that's awesome. I'm no scout, but while I didn't think he was top-7 type caliber, and it seems amusing in retrospect, I am really surprised at how far he did fall. I expected him to still go a lot higher than that. It could end up a steal.
