IF the QB tucks it and takes the safe underneath route there is little the O-coordinator can do.

One played Jimmy G made earlier explains the mindset clearly. On camera there looked to be a wide open runningback in the flat. Clean safe high completion pass. Running back catches it the D closes in with zone coverage and the guy makes 3 or 4 yards max. Stead Jimmy G looked off that guy and completed the pass to another guy in the middle of zone coverage for 9 yards. GUARANTEE Mitch in that situations dumps the ball in the flat.
