More likely cracked, hairline fracture, or bruised. Yandle does not have a hard shot. If a serious fracture with displacement, the biggest concern is puncture to the lung or other organs.

I cracked a couple of ribs and it hurts when playing any cardio sports due to the expansion of the lungs and abdominal area. It's all about ones ability to handle pain. Lacrosse has some nice rib protection if needed.
