Nice deal. Not overpriced like some of our other bottom sixers.

Sounds good to me. In the Nichushkin thread I said offer him just over $2M/yr or go to arbitration and this is close to that range. This makes sense for both sides.

Good contract. Sakic is going to have a lot of money left over this offseason as long as Graves doesn’t get a crazy amount in arbitration.

Excellent contract. 2 years rewards him for a good year, but is short enough to keep him hungry. Would have liked something closer to $2.25m but that was probably going to be optimistic with the analytics he has. Can't complain one bit about $2.5m aav, that's excellent value.

I'm a fan of the short term deals...with Compher and Donskoi each locked in for another three years, this certainly opens up a bit more flexibility long term.

Good point. I’ve seen those contracts as contracts that almost have to go but today’s two deals make that less necessary.

Would still love to see one of them moved...say Donskoi and Burakovsky are the second line wingers, that means there's $11 million locked into Nuke, Compher, Bellemare, and Calvert in the bottom six. There's more efficient ways to spend that money.

Glad Nuke is back. Hopefully he can build on last season and make this a great deal.

I'm just glad we didn't have a month or so of people saying he might threaten to go to the KHL over money. He knew the Avs helped rejuvenate his NHL career. He wasn't going to do them dirty like that.
