Mario Lemieux choked at 69 twice. What a bum. He also didn't have coaches challenges taking away a few on-ice goals.

I don't think anyone considers 69 goals in 70 or 60 games a choke. Especially when he already has a 70+ and 80+ plus under his belt.

It would be like Auston science scoring 59 in 70 next year. No one would say he choked trying to get 60.

No he wasn't. Hyman did not have 16 more goals called off than Matthews. I don't think people realize the separation between Matthews and #2/3.

Great regular season anyway. If the scoring continues to grow as it has been for the last seasons, I could certainly see him reaching 70+. He should easily be able to collect more 50+ goal seasons.

He needs to carry this potential into the playoffs though. If he wants to be seen in the same tier as Kucherov, Draisaitl, McDavid and MacKinnon, he must step up his game in the playoffs like they did and do.
